At Spitalfields Housing Association (SHA), our residents are at the heart of everything we do. Since October 2025, SHA has been supporting residents with benefit applications and access to financial assistance, helping to secure vital income and support.
To date, SHA has helped residents retain £69,000 in Universal Credit claims, secure £132,000 in Universal Credit housing cost support, and obtain £123,000 in Housing Benefit claims. In addition, we have assisted with applications for other housing-related payments and disability benefits, including Personal Independence Payment (PIP) and Attendance Allowance (AA), with claims totalling £37,000 currently awaiting decisions.
