A staff member will email you back, after checking the HRC calendar, the main tenant’s calendar, and staff availability.

Provide photographic ID

Before you can hire the community centre, we must receive a copy of your photographic ID, such as a passport or drivers licence.

Pay for your booking

The staff member will give you instructions on how to make a payment to secure your booking. Calculate the hall hire cost, including the damage deposit of £150, and any additional facilities, eg. kitchen use, PA system, garden use. Once the full payment amount is agreed with the staff member, make payment. You should reply back by email (to hello@spitalfieldsha.co.uk) with a receipt/screensaver as proof of payment. £150 damage deposit is payable in advance – subject to checks and no damage, this amount is usually reimbursed. It’s advisable to pay the full amount up front, though you can choose to pay 50% of your payment up front, with the full amount payable 48 hours before the start of your event.

Booked your event? Follow these steps to prepare for it:

Prepare for your event

To ensure that your event runs smoothly, it’s good practice to have a few volunteers from your side to help your visitors on the day. Incase they run low at larger gatherings, it’s worth bringing along some extra toilet rolls, cleaning products, cloths and black bin bags for cleaning up once your event has finished.

Checking in to the community centre

A staff member is expected to be at the HRC 20 minutes before the start of your event. Please factor in extra time to set up a stage, for your seating layout and for any specific deliveries in advance of your event. On arrival, the staff member will give the main booking party an induction, run through health and safety, and the emergency evacuation plan.

Checking out of the community centre

Booking parties are expected to clean up and be out by the end of the booking time. All surfaces must be clean, clear and made safe. Please take all rubbish away with you and dispose of them safely. Please factor in at least 30 minutes for clean up time with your volunteer help. HRC should be in the same state as it was found.
